Sharing Closet
Our Mission Statement
The Siletz Regalia Sharing Closet is a non-profit where the mission is to make culture, regalia, and dancing more accessible for Native American people across the Northwest. We provide free access to regalia for Native people at powwows, enabling participation through borrowing, dancing, and returning regalia. This is done through trust and integrity, knowing Native people treat regalia with respect, as it’s considered medicine for our people. We also offer free intergenerational workshops that teach regalia making, expanding both cultural knowledge and community impact.

Our Vision
We envision a future where all Native people, regardless of background or ability, have full and free access to their cultural identity through regalia, dancing, and shared traditions. Culture is prevention: this belief drives our aim to strengthen physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness across generations and communities. We envision Native people, regardless of their tribal affiliation, united in pride and belonging through shared cultural experiences.
Medicine that Moves
Regalia is not just what we wear; it’s who we are. It holds our stories, our survival, and our ancestors. This is how we heal. By moving. By dancing. By sharing. By honoring the regalia and the people they touch. At the Siletz Regalia Sharing Closet, we carry our ancestors forward—one powwow, one dance, one workshop at a time.
Our Core Values
- Cultural Integrity- Honoring Native traditions, histories, and protocols in how regalia is handled, shared, and taught. Rooted in Indigenous knowledge, not cultural appropriation.
- Generosity- Regalia is given to be danced, shared, and treated as medicine.
- Trust- Reliance on community accountability: regalia is borrowed with no barriers and returned with integrity.

- Belonging- Centering inclusion for all Native people regardless of age, gender, tribal affiliation, or ability.
- Accessibility- Making cultural practices reachable by removing economic, geographic, or social barriers.
- Community-Led- For natives, by natives
- Intergenerational Knowledge- Spaces for elders and youth to teach, learn, and share culture and traditions.
Our Regalia
Regalia that we, our children, and our family have worn and outgrown is very special to us. We believe that our regalia shouldn’t just sit on shelves, so donating it to be danced, and be used as medicine in our communities showcases the utmost generosity and commitment to our people.
We also aim to extend knowledge to make regalia, and the materials to do so through our workshops.
To extend generosity, community and commitment to our people is our goal.
